Sentenced to 40 years in one of Tennessee’s toughest prisons for armed robbery, 18 year-old George Lee Martin takes up boxing as a release, proving unbeatable. After seven years of victorious bouts, with close friend Doc in his corner, his reputation spreads beyond the prison walls, to coaches in the ‘free world’. Now taking on pros, George remains undefeated, even knocking out a former heavyweight champion of the world in under a minute. In 1984 the U.S. Olympic team offer George the ultimate opportunity, his freedom in exchange for a place on the Olympic team and the chance to win gold for his country. His decision shocks everyone.
